The Bounty Hunter TK4 (great name!) is one of the best starter metal detectors on the market. If that isn’t practical enough advice for you, then I’d say get to know your machine. Some experienced detectorists are willing to share their best hunting grounds. Go to places where you’re more likely to find objects such as the beach or a park, and do your research online.
If you have a gold detector then you’ll find gold at a deeper depth than a standard machine. Gold is one of those metals that benefits from a specialized gold-detecting machine that works on a higher frequency.
The type of detector I use is very difficult to use on hardrock mine dumps as it is so sensitive it will pick up the tiniest bit of a detonator shard and flakes off picks and drills etc. I think metal detectors are a must for meteor hunters and collectors for battle artefacts etc. If cassiterite is not conductive ( you can test it with an ohmmeter) then an EM based machine cannot detect it. I think it will be fun to play with a detector and I believe that there is real chance of finding something interesting.
Lots of debris lodges beneath the coil cover such as soil, stones, sand, and even a build-up of moisture. Take off the coil cover and give it a really good clean. That’s a much bigger problem because salt water will corrode the delicate components. Put the whole detector somewhere warm and dry and see if that is enough to dry out the components.
Minelab gold detectors will help you find gold pushing through the ground noise. So if you don’t know what metal detector you want, just ask.
I hope this guide has helped you understand metal detectors, or at least inspired you to get out in the fresh air and find treasure. Understand what the symbols and tones mean, and figure out the best discrimination setting – one that ignores iron but picks up coins. They can be used on land, saltwater, and freshwater with good discrimination on mineralized ground. A pulse induction machine finds deeper, smaller objects than VLF detectors and they’re programmed to ignore ground minerals.
with 11×7″ Waterproof DD Search Coil 2.4 GHz Blue Edition Wireless Headphones. Featuring an intuitive menu and a waterproof console to protect it against splashes and drops in the water round out the features of this wonderful detector. Protect your brand in a drop through pipeline or combination check weighing application with a compact, high-performance metal detector.
Unless you have a licence from the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, it is also an offence to dig or excavate for the purpose of searching for archaeological objects, or anything of archaeological interest, even though you may not be using a metal detector. You don’t need a licence to use a metal detector in the UK, but there are laws about their use.
They have done a fine job representing the Detector Pro line since it was first introduced in 1996. I have enjoyed working with Michael, Daniel and their team at Detector Electroics Corp. Would you consider metaldetectorshub The Garrett GTI2500 to be an out-dated machine? Assuming the phone is on the surface, you shouldn’t need that much sensitivity. If you just want to find a smartphone, any detector should do it.
Relics are often made from iron and these can be picked up with pretty much any machine, there’s a lot of iron out there though, so make sure you do your homework and find a site that was host to a battle or barracks. For example, metal detectorist clubs arrange hunts and compete against each other in time trials, they hold show-and tell-meetings, and swap tips on internet forums. We’ve been practicing for this all our lives with Easter eggs hunts and now as grown-ups, we can continue the treasure hunting fun.
You’ve searched high and low on all the detecting forums, and read countless opinions, reviews and case studies – most of them likely biased.
Metal Detection equipment can protect your most valuable assets and reduce costly downtime. Metal Detection equipment installed before a major piece of equipment will help protect it from metal damage.
